I work as a Staffing Coordinator at a temp agency. We staff for Administrative and Clerical positions. Everything from last minute single day receptionist fills to temp to perm jobs. Data Entry Clerks up to Executive Admins. Things I love about my job: It is incredibly fast paced (jobs can come in and I can fill them in less than 20 minutes; people blow up and I have to put out fires) some days I start working at 7:15 and don’t get to breathe until I leave at 5. I constantly have to think on my feet using creative problem solving with a lot of autonomy. I get to meet a wide variety of people because Admin work is so broad. I love playing match maker. Everyone is crazy so I get to match crazy. I love when I am able to help someone get a job who is a diamond in the rough with a strange background. I love advocating for people who I believe in who just need a break. I dislike some of the management choices my boss has made, and the turnover of the other staff in the office. Sometimes I hate all humans. I have a secret tumblr of awful resumes and cover letters I get.
My background is in arts administration. I worked in a contemporary art gallery for 5 years, while also working as an artist assistant and art blogger, so it’s so crazy I fell into staffing and love it so much.
